MK1
MK1 is a 10L, open-source computer case made of laser-cut acrylic panels. MK1’s goal is to maximize component compatibility in an affordable package. The assembly process is streamlined thanks to comprehensive digital instructions and the case’s intuitive layout.
I gained valuable design experience for several manufacturing areas through MK1:
Batch laser cutting (designing to minimize cut time and heat warpage)
CNC cutting/milling (cutting, drilling, tapping, and finishing steel fastening cubes)
3D printing (minimizing overhangs and maximizing anisotropic strength with part orientation)
